Wordpress is best for people with coding background because of more flexibility and SEO. Wix mostly for non coding beginners due to its better customer service.

Thanks for the video.
I completely disagree with the pricing being a tie. It's always a pain in the ass to have a right hosting provider, and as a person who has an online shop developed on WordPress, there were many days that my hosting had issues that put me into trouble with my service which after a while forcing me to migrate to another hosting service and of course, pay more. After moving 3 times now, I have relatively better quality, but it didn't worth the effort. Unlike that, the fact that Wix provides the hosting eases your mind on that matter so If you are new into this things and you don't know much about hosting and how to move to a new provider and setting DNS, just go with Wix.

Great video indeed, but one thing is missing and that is the responsive feature. With Wix, you need to configure a mobile view in separate option but with WordPress, the website is responsive immediately.

I loved the video. The only thing I don't agree with is pricing. I've been using Wix for the ease of use. I recently paid for a premium account with Wordpress so I could explore it's functionality. I pay $84/year with Wix. Up front, Wordpress was charging $96/year. However, that option only gave me access to "themes."I thought themes were templates. Instead, they are instructions on how to build your page to look like the theme. It wasn't that easy to follow. There are page builder plugins you could buy, but to be eligible for plugins I had to upgrade to a plan that was $300/year not to mention the additional cost for the plugin ($99), and whatever cost for the theme. I have all of these options with wix without the extra charges. The only reason I was looking to upgrade is becaus of the customization. I'm not at the point where I feel like it's worth to pay $400 (possibly more depending on other plugins needed).

In 7 minutes, I have learned EXACTLY what I needed to know if I should use Wix or WordPress. I believe that I am ready for WordPress, but that is only because I have made a few website in Wix.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but in India, there's only one plan wix provides, that is premium and its cost is around 5$ a year, and you get two years of free domain and hosting service. Aftrr that, domain costs around 10$ a year. Blows WordPress pretty much out of water.

I had experience with both and I would say wix definitely wins, wordpress not only ads up more expensive but has more glitches and slow website load at times, but the worst is the need for technical knowledge and lots of time to navigate learn and work it.

I'm a print designer using Adobe suite and started using wix just by clicking this and that and watching the helper tools. I had no idea how to make a website yet in 6 hours mine was almost finished with uploaded animations, clickable hidden links, photo albums etc. So easy to use. Then one day I tried to edit a Squarespace website - totally did my head in! What are they smoking?? So I just looked online to see what Worpress is all about and having built 4 websites in wix I really can't be bothered with the potential headache. Nothing looks simple and it seems to be rife with pitfalls and hidden costs. I'm guessing Wordpress is for dedicated online users who have nothing else on their plate like print. Just my thoughts.

Exactly. The last point is what makes the difference
If you know web programming go with WordPress 100%. You can customize any way you want with php, css, javascript, you name it

If you don't have a clue about programming then go with Wix

Wordpress is THE best. Full stop. Once you start using it, you'll never look back. The possibilities are endless. And with all the tutorials available out there, it shouldn't be a problem even if your technical knowledge is limited.
