Infinity Nikki Review

Infinity Nikki is the peak free-to-play dress-up game. It still has a few too many currencies and all the gacha pulls you’d expect from its mobile roots, but it's all in service of building a gorgeous, gigantic wardrobe worth getting excited about. It features some of the most intricate and detailed outfits in any game, and while unlocking them can require a lot of grinding (or some real-world money) that just means time spent joyfully exploring its packed open world. There's always something new and either cute or bizarrely dark to discover, and you'll still be unraveling secrets after dozens of hours. Infinity Nikki is perfectly girly positivity rolled up in a pink and sparkling package, and regardless of whether that is something you've wanted, it might just be what you need.

This is one of the best reviews IGN has done in awhile. Normally they just spend 90% of the video summarizing and spoiling the plot but this is breaking down this game into its actual parts like a review should be. Telling you what you will actually be doing and reviewing those things. Blows my mind when IGN puts in the effort and when they don’t.

I didn't know what to expect when I tried it out, but after an hour or so was hooked. The open world is beautiful, story line is captivating, game play is fun, and the voice acting, really good. Everyone needs a friend like Momo and a girlfriend like Nikki.

I’m not the target audience for this game and probably won’t play it (I play too many gacha games as it is). But I’m happy to see a high-quality game in this style for people who are into it, I’m all for more variety in the industry.

My wife loves this game. She's never played Genshin, largely because of the combat. She's great at shooters and great at action games, it was just tedious for her to grind for characters she wasn't really interested in. Infinity Nikki has totally captivated her and it's definitely more of what she's interested in. Plus while there's gacha elements, you can play through almost all of the content without spending a dime. She was looking for a "next game" after sunsetting Final Fantasy XIV and I definitely think she's found it. This is the type of gacha game I don't mind spending money on, because it's totally optional and the polish level for the non-paid portion is so high.
