a similar problem happened to me in a creepy ass basement. the elevator decided not to react to the calls i was registering, so i had to find my way out through what i would describe as "the depths of hell" in order to return to the street outside

This one still lives in my head rent free. I can still remember you saying "This sucks" a couple times, not only do I understand the annoyance of the situation, but I also still remember the door slamming part prior to the stairs. As someone who's into elevators myself, it's still a breath of fresh air getting to look back on the stuff I'd see from you back in the day, especially my most favorite ones. Definitely wasn't expecting things to get so bad that it had to take the stairs, but apparently you had no choice there. LOL

The same thing happened to me at the Parking Garage at the Willow Grove Park Mall. The doors would not shut properly on the 3rd floor, thus preventing the elevator from moving. I spoke with guest services and Otis was immediately notified of the issue.

When my father had surgery to fix his back problems, the hospital had these really cool OTIS lifts, and I was little...Now I am 12. I did not think anything of it until I came across this channel. The parking garage had OTIS lifts. Long story short, the lifts were turned into generics. The area where you have like 6 lifts in one room had again OTIS lifts. Only 2 are still original. When you entered one of the old OTIS elevators the doors had a small gap (1-2 mm) and you could see a small sliver of light when you passed a floor. And no, I did NOT get to see the motor room. I think the controller for the OTIS lifts are modernized because it was too smooth, also you could hear the controller beeping.

This same thing happened to me on the parking garage elevator at Kemah like 5-6 years back. The elevator went up without a problem then when I tried to go back down it acted just like this elevator. It was really annoying to be exact.
