For years now, this producer has been developing an extremely original, exciting array of sounds that he has woven together into a creative, complex body of work. Living through the unimaginable darkness of war in his home city of Sarajevo, music was his saviour.

Having produced around 300 minimal techno tracks, Billain started to look outwards. New inspiration came via Ed Rush & Optical's legendary "Wormhole' LP and this was his turning point towards a world of techno-influenced drum and bass, a path he treads to this day.

With « Supertensor » on MINDTECH LTD, he writes a new page in the book of insanity. Heavy breaks, percussive obsession, abstract sound, cinematic intro... All the ingredients required for an evil musical recipe.

I couldn't agree with you more about this being an excellent piece of art! Coming back to this tune, however, I get the same feeling I got before - amazing sound design, but could really use a change-up every now and then ;) That's just how I feel about it, clearly not everyone agrees!

Cheers, my friend!

Cheers, dude :) Good to hear an opinion from a fellow producer! Well said!

Personally, I really dig the minimalistic style of his main bass lines. The variation comes in from listening to it being mixed, when it comes to artists like Billain the best way to appreciate the smaller sections is within a giant inferno of unfathomable sounds. Think on the level of classical music, except its one man mixing his on tunes on two decks rather then an 100+ piece orchestra being conducted by a composer. Art.

I've always thought that! Hope big Billain sees these comments, and ups his (already massive) game!

Hey, buddy - It seems I've unintentionally rustled a few jimmies here. Let me just say that I admire Billain as one of the most innovative DnB/Neurofunk producers out there. And I've been closely following his work since I first heard his unreleased track "Booo" back in '08 or so. I've even got a clip of 'Vertebrae' sitting in my music library as we speak :) I'm also well-aware my tunes are far from perfect - believe me! But it certainly doesn't make my criticism any less valid!

Cheers, Sergei!

True enough, my friend! There are definitely many intricacies happening in this tune that do qualify as "variation". There are a lot subtle details that Billain's sort of known for giving his tracks - and they are always an appreciated touch. However, I do stand by my comment that as an artist, many of Billain's tracks do suffer from repetition. Does it keep me from downloading/enjoying his music? Absolutely not! In fact, recently, I've been getting down to his remix of Reso's tune Half Life ;)

His earlier stuff was still musical to my hears, lately it only sounds like low pitched soundscape with a beat.

That's fair enough I suppose. I happen to like his subtle variety, he definitely seems to be more of a dance floor technician though so maybe that's what you don't like about him? He's also my favourite producer at the moment so maybe I'm a little biased ;-)

1. I just checked your work and discovered that you aren't compatible to discuss such issue (if it is an issue in the first place), because if you were aware of that problem, you would solve that issue in your own tracks.Your tracks lack LFO variation. 2. There is unwritten rule with older producers when you want to keep some variations intact (remmember techno and techstep?). Educate yourself about Billain's background and you will find that this guy produced everything. Aethek - Vertebrae?

And you're going to be the judge of all that? Nice patronizing :) Oh and feel free to check my channel and bash me for it!

Personally, I think the sound design in this tune is nothing short of amazing. That being said, I've found that a lot of Billain's tunes (this one in particular) really lack variation in the "main" section. Sure he'll have a change up every 16th bar or so, but other than that not so much. It's a shame really, it really takes away from the song as a whole :/

Why is giving TheBiocideOfficial shit for giving his oppinion without being a jackass about it? I think Billain is one of the best producers out there at the moment, bringing real new original content. I would even call myself somewhat of a Billain fan. However, speaking as a producer myself, this track does lack variation and I found it slightly dissapointing. Same goes for his recent Boogie release. They feel too muddy/random. They miss the clean spark yet rough energy Batbots/Octopamine had.
