Edited with no tape hiss, a slight reverb on the vocals, amplitude correction, and general amplification.

Requested by @Alabaster Effect

Decided to restore another one of the 'Dan's outtakes due to the popularity of "The Bear". Not to mention, they're my favourite band :)

funny how an outtake is better than about 99% of music ever produced by other acts.

The chord progression Gm7 to Eb7 for the “i preserve great moments” and “sweet holy Jesus” parts are amazing.

I was thinking THIS might be my favorite SD song, but actually ALL their songs are my favorite as are all of Matisse's paintings my favorites

St. Augustine proclaimed that “Man” had free will to act on his own, but, God determined all things. And, Kulee Baba is a dance to honor and remember the elders who have passed. Yet, this song escaped placement on a Steely Dan album. I agree with others here that this song sounds a lot like Teen Town….thanks for listing this great dance track.

This is SO GOOD! Steely Dan's outtakes are better than some bands' greatest hits.

If you ask me, this has one of the best Fagen vocals on record

this track has always been considered a Gaucho outtake.
One of my favorite songs from Steely Dan, drums intro is highly reminiscent of Teen town

Donald’s lyrics are so amazing. Such a poet. “My suit is a bright Irish green. The color and cut are striking. I’m something of a standout in the crowd”. The storytelling and movement in his verse sections are always so freakin cool

Like Ian Dury said in the "Aja special" this music couldn't be recorded anywhere than where it was recorded :that is CALIFORNIA, and he added that when he heard SD he heard the cool sound of Coltrane, Mingus etc etc and of course the mellow sound of SD music. So great music.
Diving into the ocean and cooling down with the Santa Ana winds👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
