Mantissa Mix 106: Zurkin

Over the past few years the underground scene in Tblisi and Georgia has gone from strength to strength despite resistance from the right wing in the country. A host of clubs, record stores and most importantly, the people can be credited for this growth and a few months ago, we were lucky enough to learn more about Bassiani and the local scene through Horoom resident, Kvanchi who tipped us onto Zurkin, the founder of Vodkast, a label, club night and record store.

This week we are very proud to bring you a recording from Zurkin at a Vodkast Showcase in Horoom, Bassiani. Over the course of the 1hr 30min recording, we get an insight into why Zurkin is amongst the most respected DJs in Tblisi, weaving his way from ambient to rare groove and everything inbetween. The set starts slow, gently picking up the pace making it perfect for listening on any number of occasions. We hope you enjoy this treat!
