thank you digestive showtime for the wonderful "road trip". i knew i banked in my trust in the right place. this film is definitely my cup of tea: a special brew of two opposite personalities, ayyan the arrogant introvert and hamza the childishly playful extrovert, simmering their differences on their way home. for me, the main attraction in this film is hamza. his cute husky teenager voice disarms ayyan from his offensive and defensive armour [attitude]. it is hamza's carefree but caring manners that drive us all home to our rich cultural roots. hamza is polite in addressing the elders [ayyan bhai and khala-amma] though this irritates ayyan at first. hamza also holds steadfastly to family tradition [eat together stay together]. he extends goodness beyond his family sphere by spreading happiness [magic tricks and flipping bottle] and helping others [teach maths, pack stuffs neatly] impulsively. with these he punctures our ego, like ayyan's deflated tyre, in thinking that because we are older we know better than the youngster. as such road trip takes me to a very humbling discovery. in short this film is my kind of traditionally rich and warm cup of tea. this is what I call compact, classy and entertaining. thank you digestive showtime. you make us all proud.
