We just started a new decade. Time to talk about things we should not do anymore. If we ever did. These are just my 5 cents. I am sure you will add a ton of other things in the comments.

Like most of the Americans, I go with the cardinal counting for the decade (Wikipedia: A YouGov poll was conducted on December 2, 2019, asking 13, 582 Americans whether the following decade would begin on New Year's Day 2020 or New Year's Day 2021. Results show that 64% of Americans answered the next decade will begin on January 1, 2020, and will end on December 31, 2029, the cardinal range)

Andreas! Thanks for the insight into your decision making for the channel! Let's just say, I agree with many of your conclusions and have been doing similar things. Good luck with yours and I will continue with mine as well. Don't worry, you are still in my Patreon budget and YouTube notifications! Happy 2020!

Thanks for keeping me up to date with current topic in micro controllers and sensors. Viewing your channel is very time effective for me. Due (time) budget reasons, I have to say no to most of your concrete projects, but I keep the ideas and concepts in my mind for later use. Prosit 2020!

I saw another Youtuber asking their subscribers this question, so i thought i'd tell you:
I generally watch your videos on 2x speed, and am glad that your voice is very clear.

did not expect a video, analyzing psychology of a common viewer from a techie but simply a apt advice from a person who has seen so much of life. thanks for tips and tricks to make best out of available time .when everyone around is citing power of'saying 'yes' , you have narrated power of saying 'no' in time. thank you very much for the advice....

Grüess us de Ostschwiiz 👋🏼

[And now for the English version]
Dear Andreas, thank you very much for this inspiring video. Your message learning how to say “No” or otherwise to live with the consequences is a credo which I’ve been trying to follow for many years — with mixed success though. 😉 I wish you and all the viewers of your channel a happy New Year 2020. Greetings from the eastern part of Switzerland 🇨🇭👋🏼

If someone said this to me when I was young, I would have a better time today, I also was divorced because of the same problem and I have got a big burn out in 2015. Before I had no time for family even hobbies, but budget, but now I have time as maker but less budget. This should be a warning to all younger viewers!

Mr Spiess, I believe you also have a significant number of your viewers who are not into this as a Hobby, but rather as a profession, myself included. What I'm learning on this channel with you are things useful to solve real life customer scenarios, so the value of your work in incredibly high to me - Also the reason why I support you on Patreon!! :-) Looking forward for great projects this year and happy 2020!

"Too many projects..." I know that one so well. There are so many things to be interested in, and so little time...

I do completely agree about livestream. The great point with your videos is that they are focused on a clearly defined subject.
Thank you and happy 2020 ;)

Saying and hearing "No" more often will correspondingly make those received or given "Yeses" more valuable.
Happiness doesn't come from saying "Yes" to everything, but saying "Yes" to things that matter, that are close to your heart, instead.
Happy New Year!

I have left several comments on your channel, and always try to show my appreciation for your diligence. I appreciate your engagement and devotion to us, and we owe so much to those efforts. I must admit I dropped out of college, for I could not find my passion at university, and currently spend 8-12 hours a day independently learning Micropython, ESP32, and connected IOT. Some times the road is dark, but the "Man with the Swiss Accent" is a strong light to lead me on the way. I sincerely hope you continue to find success as you are a strong inspiration to me all the way in Texas.

I quickly learnt with my children that a response other than No means Yes.

They quickly learnt that the No response actually stood for Negotiable, therefore an appropriate outcome for all concerned would be achieved.

Thank you Andreas. I just recently found your channel and I don't know what made me decide to watch this particular video but I am very glad that I did. This is exactly what I needed to hear right now. I am looking for work and in a bad mental place right now, but it is all self-inflicted. A lot of what you said rang very true to me.
The fact that you have you took the time to spread some of the wisdom you have learned to help others says a lot about you as a person, IMO. I don't take advice from many but I think I will take yours as you seem to be where I want to be. Thank you again.
