While never a fan of Eisenhower politics, I have found his matrix to be very helpful. I sometimes feel a sense of urgency and too much responsibility for all my actions/plans and this helps me get more realistic perspectives. It actually functions as a kind of mindfulness, a very central organizing principle for me.

I kind of use 2x2s not so often though in my understanding of Sales dynamics but again as you rightly mentioned I have yet to nail down the attributes. Usually I end up plotting wrong attributes or problems. So I guess I need more practice in my approach towards this tools and the problems at hand

Heard about BCG matrix before and prompted me to look up old marketing notes from b-school and also found the Ansoff matrix which is very similar!

In strategy we do a SWOT, TOWS, and then maybe an OGSM (not 2x2 I know)...my biggest issue with 2x2 is getting good data from stakeholders. How do you discount intentional 'steering' indirectly thru the data?

question related to this 2x2, what kind of stuff do you find yourself including in the not urgent/not important section, i find it difficult to come up with something that may be a bother, but falls under this category, the only thing that i can think of are things that may relate to hobbies, which I am not sure i want to eliminate out of my life, maybe i am missing a class of tasks that would fall in this category? then again i am not completely against eliminating hobbies if you believe it is a necessary requirement to completely commit to earning money or being successful in a project

My matrix is 1x1, because I can usually afford only one (or none) of all the options ... so ... why have a pointless debate? LOL. 😁👍
