Doctors are leaving Idaho because they literally can't do their jobs without either risking the lives of their patients or facing 20 years in prison. Rural doctors in particular who have taken care of their communities for decades are packing up and leaving the state. Teachers are also quitting in record numbers.

My wife had an abortion because our baby was diagnosed with a severe skeletal dysplasia on the 21 week ultrasound. She had a severely small rib cage, undeveloped lungs and would have suffocated to death if carried to term. The abortion had to be approved by the hospitals ethics committee. All late abortions are done for dire reasons. We don’t need more laws regulating this.

A lot women will leave the state. And the men will be alone in Idaho. The man will have to travel to date, and if marries will have to leave the state. WOW. Stupid, hypocritic and embarrassing law.

Today, Idaho has officially APPROVED a ban on abortion travel.
I can see Idaho dwindling as its population decides to move out and live out their freedom somewhere ELSE than Idaho.

That's what churches don't understand. It isn't for someone else to decide how you choose to grieve. It isn't for them to decide what you do with your own life.
They need to quit trying to make choices for others, and maybe focus on the abuse within their own ranks, before casting blame at others.
They were just caught abusing 600 children over 50 years in Maryland at a church, so these religious people have zero room to impose their beliefs on anyone.

"Getting an abortion in Idaho is nearly impossible these days for most women" Good.

Good for them. Shame on Idaho for mostly outlawing abortion.

To suggest that the Bible is silent on abortion is a lie. In both the Old and New Testaments, the language used to describe born and unborn people is the same. For example, in Luke 1:41, the unborn John the Baptist is called a “brephos” which means “babe” or “baby” in Greek. Then, in the very next chapter, the born Jesus is also called a “brephos.” We are also told that Elizabeth’s baby leapt in her womb upon being in the presence of Mary. Should we conclude that this makes no statement about the unborn? If so, and if the Bible is silent on abortion, then it is logical to also conclude that Scripture is indifferent about whether these women would have aborted Jesus and John the Baptist. After all, by pro-choice reasoning, at this point they didn’t even exist. (A few Scriptural references to the unborn include: Genesis 25:22-24; Job 31:15; Psalm 22:9-10; Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5; Hosea 12:2-3; Luke 1:15; Luke 1:41; and Exodus 21:22-24.)

My advice is, if you live in Idaho, don't get pregnant.

Before I got married, the first thing I asked my future husband was vasectomy first, then we get married. Why on earth you have children in a country with violence, massive crimes, massive homeless, crazy rent, no free school, no free college, no safety. I can't afford financially and psycologically to have children with these circumstances, and besides you have to be in a very stable and healthy marriage relationship to have a child. Now I asked for divorce because marriage has to be very healthy, otherwise, ask for divorce.

It's ridiculous to think people actually kill a child knowing the child will die anyway. I've had 6 miscarriages and 2 I held and said goodbye. They came from God's arms, to my arms and back to God without any level of knowing I killed them. Shame on people in this story and shame on anyone that supports it.

Very brave of them. Thank you for sharing their story and I pray people will be kind and understanding.

If at any time for any reason I would have to give a reason to my state officials why I am leaving my state, it would be to permanently move out and never come back. (This trend has set by OB docs, but I am sure more is following).

There is some really hypocritical reasoning here. This was not a miscarriage…it was an abortion. This couple made the conscious decision to abort a child that was not allegedly ‘perfect’…according to their doctor. They did not have any definitive proof that the baby would have died after birth. There are thousands of stories of babies who were born healthy after doctors told the parents that the baby would not survive. This scenario is exactly the reason why abortion should not be so readily available.

Everyone should be entitled to their beliefs, and no one should have the right to force their beliefs onto another. Shame on Idaho governor and policymakers !
