Blue Photon reinvent work holding with UV curable adhesive for complex parts

Today on MTDCNC, Colin Griffiths is with Dan Billings from Blue Photon to talk about their product range and some unique technology. Introducing the patented UV curable adhesive, BlueGrip, Dan provides insight on how the technology works by eliminating all clamps that can get in the way of processing. This allows 5-sided access to the part with the ability to fill the gaps between the part and grippers for curing the adhesive, which solidifies in 60 seconds. Dan reiterates the powerful grip of Blue Photon’s patented grippers with different sizes that support a tension of 600, 400, and 150 pounds respectively. Easy to remove in minutes, the technology offers rigidity and accuracy for complex parts, small parts, and 3D printed parts! I looked into this for my shop a few years ago, the sapphire grippers were stupid expensive. If you build it into a production flow it could work, but it's a crazy price for job shop work.
