Dave Portnoy reacts to Sam Ponder's firing from ESPN

Sports anchor Sam Ponder was fired with football analyst former NFL player Robert Griffin III due to cost-cutting moves in ESPN, according to The Athletic.

Ponder was among a tiny group of personalities at the network who called for fairness in women's sports amid the controversy over trans athletes participating in women's sports.

The decision to fire Sam Ponder created outrage on social media with many commentators posting their reactions on X.

Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines criticised ESPN’s decision saying it's “not a coincidence.”

“So ESPN fires @samponder, the only woman at the network who was publicly said men don't belong in women's sports,” she said.

Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy posted a viral video reacting to Ponder's firing wishing her "good luck" despite his controversial history with the sports anchor.
