I worked up in the california redwoods bring down timber and blasting the stumps from the ground with dynamite. When we would get those huge burls and stumps, I was taught to store them under cover, off the ground and to completely bury them in sawdust. Some would take many years to cure but it would prevent them from splitting when dried too fast

On Maine cabin masters they sliced a burl and in-layed it into a live edge table, it was absolutely beautiful. Natures artwork from God’s creation.
