That’s a hell of a basement if you ask me.

I’m in my grandpas Utah cabin right now. The snow was so bad this year that it ripped off all the pipes on the roof and it was so cold a pipe burst in the basement 😢 it ruined everything down there and the basement was finished only a year ago. It’s completely destroyed there is nothing in the basement but old nails and wires. It flooded like 3 feet of water and no one noticed for about 3 months. I wanted to cry when I saw it in this condition. Luckily the mold did not spread to the upstairs so everything upstairs is completely fine but the basement was the hangout area with tons of cool things. It’s still a ton of fun to be here but i just wish this didn’t happen

I remember my grandmother telling the story of the winter of 1888 in upstate NY - Same thing happened - had to start shoveling out from the 2nd floor windows. Everyone survived, all was well + great stories for the next 3 generations! ❤

This makes the misery of humidity in the south a bit more bearable 😬. I guess we all deal with what we have to. We have some new friends that moved here from Utah, I asked her if anyone warned them about the humidity. With a deep sigh, she said it is awful. I agree😊.
