I feel for FKA Twigs and all the abuse she suffered, and for me it was really sad when she started crying and apologized for crying and the interviewer says "you don't need to apologize ...", I felt like the questions asked were very respectful .

It sounds like he conditioned her slowly over time, distorting her concept of reality and making her question whether it was truly his behavior or her lack of self-awareness. Standard abuse tactic. Also probably slowly removed her from friends and loved ones, to the point where she wasn't able to really discuss what was happening to confirm it was in fact abuse. Some of the most reasonable, logical people have been victims of emotional and physical abuse. The human mind is extremely easy to manipulate when isolated, and particularly when romantic feelings are involved.

I’ve known many women who’ve been in very serious abusive relationship. Men too. They don’t choose to stay in the relationship, they are forced to stay through means of manipulation, guilt and threat. I’m glad she’s working on healing herself.

I got myself out of an abusive relationship. It took me a long time. I sometimes kick myself for not leaving sooner. And I remind myself to be gentle w my self. I encourage any of you who are going thru domestic violence, to find someone you truly trust and ask for help. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If you stay silent, you prolong the suffering. Be brave, stand up, and walk away. It’s not easy, I KNOW!
