I saw this right before I switched to T-mobile home internet so I was prepped for it, but still went through with the purchase. I’ve never had a good long term Xfinity experience, it’s been unreliable for me. I initially had Verizon 5g home internet but once T mobile was available I jumped to it. I’m getting over 200 mbps on average and up to 30 up and the connection hasn’t slowed down at all no matter the time of day.

When I got a new unit, two different times, it wouldn't connect!

They charge the $35 for the FREE 15 day test period even as an existing customer. I got the unit and tested it and was getting @180 MBPS up until prime time and weekends when it was way lower speed but it also dropped to 2-4 MBPS sporadically basically shutting down everything. So sent it back then got the news that the activation fee that you must have to test it was NOT refundable. SO how is that a FREE test ride??

Everybody has hidden fees. The internet is still cheaper than other places.

Thank you for the information. At least they do put it in small print on their page, unlike Infinity who will just hit you with Bill Shock each month. That is why I left Comcast, I did not agree with their billing.

Been on my T-Mo Home Internet for a year now and am very happy with it (I do live in a major Texas City so have good 5G coverage). I think even with the new fee I would still move to it. I plan on being in this house until I get planted in the ground, so $50 for the next 40 years is a mega deal.

Wish my place in Montana had T-Mo (or any carriers) WiFi signal but alas nope, one of the joys of having a place in a very Rural part of the country where no Cellphone Carriers have setup towers. The benefit though is that I avoid getting Scam phone calls and Political phone calls. So perhaps it is a good thing (always try to find the positive).

I was expecting T-Mo to do something to address inflation and such, but was not expecting them to do it with a Sign up fee. I was more expecting them to move new T-Mo Home Internet users to $55, which would still be a bargain.

This is actually cheaper to get started with compared to most other internet providers.

Okay, $35 activation fee. That doesn't mean the internet didn't go up. So what's the big deal? When you got the fast food, you're paying more than that.

They waived this fee for me without even asking them too…

And btw the activation fee is non refundable. And ZACHARY at the T Mobile store in Central Ohio completely neglects to tell you that. Ahem.
