This loss definitely hurt Faker even if he looked calm after the loss. Dude had to hold in his emotions in front of Keria since he is a leadership figure.

The moment they let Kingen have Aatrox and not pick their most comforts is the signal that they’ll lose game 5 and it is heartbreaking 😭 I can’t cry hard enough for T1 especially Keria but I am also happy for Deft finally getting his first Worlds.

Breakdown:

0:01 - T1 makes the call to backdoor because they assumed Kingen's flank was a TP (remember Kingen was off-vision for quite a while)
0:01 - BeryL forces Oner to maw early because Oner would get Bard ult'ed and miss Elder entirely. So Oner had no other choice but to risk it.
0:02 - DRX takes Elder because Oner is in stasis from Guardian Angel
0:06 - 0:08 Deft takes out Oner and Keria
0:09 - Kingen teleports much to T1's dismay

Watched this whole finals in theatre and the tension was insane, all of Guma's steals and Kingen played outta his mind!

Honestly it sucks as a T1 fan but also great as an LCK fan and amazing for all of DRX. It was a super close series, but honestly it was over when it went to game five even before drafts. DRX were so calm and focused, almost like they were just happy to be here, T1s were the ones with the massive amount of pressure, you could see their desperate play at times. Huge wp to DRX, but also, Guma/Keria Oner who honestly played the series of their life tbh

Nawh after DRX was able to come back from that inhibitor respawn against EDG; I realized what kind of untiltable team this was. You could also see the difference when pyosik stole soul from EDG; they fell apart immediately from the shock. Definitely an amazing story this year and congrats to the LCK on reclaiming the crown 🎉

they had no choice, the backdoor was the only option considering drx had elder, they would have lost under nexus turrets so it was the only way they had a chance of winning from that point

I am both happy and sadden for both teams. One side I'm happy Deft managed to get a win in his decade long career. In another my heart aches for T1's nostalgic Dynasty return, especially Keria having to see his former teammates going to win without him and breaking down, Faker's defeated face, just overall T1 in shambles. Both teams deserved the worlds title, one hand you've got the underdog story and the other you have the return of the unstoppable Dynasty. As a long T1 fan since season 3 I pray that perhaps next year T1 is able to get back up and bounce back especially with Bengi now as a headcoach. You can tell Bengi had a massive influence on their overall play as they stomped 99% of worlds.
