4 Reasons I'd Choose The GoPro Hero 10 Over The DJI Pocket 2

There are times when I absolutely won't use my DJI Pocket 2, even though in my previous video, I talked about why I film more with the DJI Pocket 2 over the GoPro Hero10. So in this video, I share four of my reasons for choosing the GoPro Hero 10 over the DJI Pocket 2.

Your 4 points about the GoPro are very helpful for someone trying to decide which camera is best for them:

Your two videos make it very clear that a GoPro and the Pocket 2 are quite different cameras and are suitable to different situations.

For example (as I wrote in my long comment (s) on your Pocket 2 video), I film a lot during long days while engaged in a lot of different activities, such as riding on a scooter, hiking, and going through crowded and wet markets, and for that, a GoPro works better for me.

And for anyone using a camera as I do, I could add these thoughts about a GoPro camera to your four:

- larger and brighter LCD screens (more visible in bright daylight)
- wider field of view (which I like for capturing more of the setting around me)
- custom presets (for adjusting rapidly to changing conditions)
- two bright tally lights (to quickly confirm that the camera is working and recording)
- ease of video playback and review (big screen and a scrubbing tool)

I find these features (and your 4) help me get through a day of shooting video with a GoPro. And I'd miss them if I tried to do the same thing with a Pocket 2. Of course, the Pocket 2 shines and totally outperforms the GoPro in other areas and in other use-situations.

Obviously, which camera is the best choice really does depend on what you're trying to do and how you intend to use the camera. I'm certainly not a GoPro "fanboy". I could just as easily list a dozen problems and issues with GoPros that drive me crazy. My GoPro has made my life miserable many times. I just thought I'd repeat a couple of my more positive points here in case they could help anyone trying to decide which camera is right for them. 😀

As a start-up channel I use the gopro 10, I vlog from the Philippines where it is hot sunshine a minute then heavy rain on the next, I just need a camera that I can wipe the dust, dirt, mud and water of any kind and continue filming, cheers from the Philippines!!!

I bought Pocket 2 for my walking channel and now I'm just trying to render everything correctly in the best possible quality since the first clips are not ideal but I had to start with something. I love the sound quality from those 4 mics in Pocket 2 already. Very good for no commentary, city sounds only type videos but eventually I will get the binaural audio setup since it sounds ace. I can't wait for pocket 3

Never had a GoPro but use the Osmo Action almost daily and it’s old but totally amazing.
I have the action 2 as well which I use for more discrete filming and pov stuff.
For me the pocket 2 was too fragile, I loved the footage but not being waterproof, it’s tiny screen and mind boggling options made me sell it

All very sensible, Tamara. I mentioned to you before my friend in Singapore who uses the Pocket 2 for all his YouTube videos. Well, he was on holiday recently in Melbourne, Australia, and was caught out by a big wave at the beach and his Pocket 2 was completely ruined. Now if he'd had a GoPro... He also lost his iPhone, so it was very unfortunate.

I think the only advantage of the DJI is that it keeps the horizon in the center of the shot. I don’t mean ‘Horizon Leveling’, I mean that if you point up or down, the shot will always be the same. However, it’s a disadvantage when you actually want to point at the ground and have to remember to hold the button. So, I like the GoPro 10 because you literally point it wherever. But the disadvantage of that is that you might have it on a chest or head mount and the shot may be pointing too high or too low. Swings & roundabouts! 😂

Waterproof and vibration stabilisation is better with the hero than the pocket. If you were going for a camera to mount on the outside of a car I would pick the here

Also you can replace the lens or use ND filters to protect the lens. Or use screen protector and a rubber or hard case for more durable and more rugged hehe
