Suddenly, it's 1975, and I'm drooling over the photos in Stereo Review magazine.

For me Marantz makes the best looking vintage gear by far. All the 22 line and the 6300 are something else .

Found your channel recently. Stereos were furniture when I was a little kid, then became dedicated high-tech components as an older kid.

I still like the look of console stereos… next best thing to a time machine.

This is one of the main reasons I watch your channel. Eye candy. Thanks for showing us pretty things. ❤

Looks is underrated, for people like me staring at a nice lit up stereo hits the dopamine receptors that increase the enjoyment of music even if it’s placebo

I love Marantz.
The looks, gyro touch tuning, the sound, and everything else.

What a wonderfully entertaining presentation. I worked at World of Sound in Toledo, Oh, in 1972-74, selling McIntosh, Revox, Nakamichi, Thorens, Luxman, Citation, JBL, IMF (Bud Fried), and Sony. I enjoyed traveling down memory lane with you.

I’ve got a Marantz 2245 that’s a very early 1972 model. I recently had it restored by a local tech who did everything tech wise. Output transistors, caps, filter caps, cleaning, the whole enchilada. However he called me and commented on the vellum being old, and it didn’t have LED lamps, and did I want them done. The dial has a turquoise shade being 52 years old, and that’s precisely the way I want it. I call it “patina”. And the lamps I had replaced with OEM bulbs. If I had a 63 vette with faded original paint, I’d leave it! So the vellum and bulbs stay. And it sounds as beautiful as it did 52 years ago.

The way you explain things is like someone reading a masterpiece. Even if you didn't love Hi Fi (and believe me I do ) you could change their mind. I love it. 👏👏

Fun video!! The only thing better than hearing your favorite music is getting the chance to watch a beautiful system "Perform" while you do so.

Probably one of your best videos because you had the freedom to run wild with your comments. Some classic moments that made me burst out laughing. Just you having a great time; in, of course, your trademarked deadpan way. Thanks!

The technics 1500 and 1520 open reel decks were truly stunning to look at.

That Onkyo is a stunner, sexy piece, I can not deny I like big meters 😁

When I was a teenager, lying on the bed in the dark listening to music, I often felt as though the light of the dial and the circuits behind it were some sort of sparkling magical electronic land. The magic of the music was just as much the color and light coming through the dial as it was coming through the speakers. One of my cassette decks is a Luxman KX-101, and I always though that the transport buttons looked like sparkling ice cubes.

That's my Sansui 9090db. It is a monster! 110 watts of clean strong output. It could handle 8 or 4 ohm loads. I could go on and on, as we all co I ld about our nostalgic equipment.

My Marantz Model 22 was a beauty! I had it in the 70s when I was a kid. 😊
