I Bought From NEVSTUDIO So You Don't Have To | Techwear Review

Nevstudio or NEV Studio style themselves as a techwear and streetwear retailer. Like many other 'techwear stores' they sell drop-shipped inventory which can also be found on Taobao, AliExpress, and a variety of other websites. After our less-than-ideal experience with Techwear Club, will we find anything better here?

Honestly, I don’t regret buying this as my first “techwear” purchase mainly because it gave an idea of what I want to look for when I got into tech wear.

I always thought there was something fishy about this company, mainly because they have so many ridiculously cool looking items and they never seem to be out of them, whereas most brands have only a select few seasonal items if they really do look as fancy as their images in real life. i was always thinking, there's no way the items can look *that* good. I guess what Milanoo is to the lolita fashion community, Nev is to the techwear community XD

I’ve been scoping these dudes out for a while now. I’m new to tech wear and etc, and I’ve been getting a bunch of ads by NEV. I saw they had the discount sales and thought: “hmm, perhaps it’s time to buy.” Coincidentally, you release a review 4 minutes later. Glad to know I have better options

That hoody looks quite comedic, I kept thinking "oh that front face hood part seems like a convenient place to place a bowl of noodles so I could eat and walk at the same time".

Not sure how I got here, as I’ve never watched Tech Wear reviews before, but i gotta say: you give really detailed and engaging reviews, mate!

my japanese industrial hoodie had pockets on the arm pieces and the strap things on the sides actually looked like what was advertized, the flap thing actually hanging in the way you want it to but on the front is 'HGTY' and 'Haitian Industrial' in Japanese on the back rather than what you showcased

"Re-Stocking Fee" is pretty common, just not with online retail clothing returns.
Likely due to the sellers being drop shippers and used to operating more as distributers.

I bought the hoodie around early 2021. The hood and flap were kinda expected to disappoint, but for the price that I bought it for I didn't mind much.
I ended up frankenstein it with another hoodie. Detached the sleeves and hood bits. Remade the hood from the fabric I weren't going to use, making a bit deeper and wider. Strenghten the lower flap so it would keep its shape better when it was up and not go all soggy on me, which I felt that it kinda did. Along with that I changing the straps to a slightly harder material also for the same purpose.

I'm not much of a tailor or anything, but every now and then I love to frankenstein stuff.

For anyone wondering, the text on the NEV Pilot Girl Print Tee is 飛行する or Hikōsuru which means “to fly”

So.... who is it that actually *makes* all this stuff? Are there any genuine "we make it, we ship it" or is all techwear just lost to this incredibly futuristic cyberpunk network of automated drop-shipping sites? Which is honestly probably totally on-par for the sort of aestheti that techwear offers heh

I figured I might as well give the hoodie a shot as well:
The NEV “Alphabet I” Hoodie Plus

On the sleeve is written:
株式会社 (signifying a Public Corporation or Ltd.)
田島運輸 (Tajima Transport which is a shipping company in Habikino City in the Osaka Prefecture)

On the back is written:
吉葉重工 (Yoshiba Heavy Industries which appears to be a fictional company simply meant to give it that extra bit of corporate or industrial flare)

I've been looking at techwear clothes for sometime, I'm happy to find someone who dared to risk their $'s to find out what the quality really is like. You earned my sub my man!

Oh no, he did it again.
May the prayers be with your wardrobe.

For people who like edgy anime/ heavy metal tshirts, I recommend buying from goth retailers like Killstar. They also sell hoodies with a lot of metal hardware on them. Just be careful what you pair those items with orherwise you'll look like a straight up goth. Also don't buy them at full price, it's not worth it and they always have discounts every week.

If you're looking for licensed anime merch i really recommend Atsuko or Hypland, both have more standard fitting tees as opposed to the longer-sleeved oversized look but the designs are dope and the prints are quality. Primitive also has some decent collabs with inuyasha, naruto, hunter x hunter

“Restocking fees” are fairly common with greedy/shady retailers that expect to be handling more returns than average.
