Rep Fitness Dumbbell Review | Fast Series Adjustable Dumbbell Initial Thoughts & Unboxing
#repfitness #adjustabledumbbells #garagegymtour
The REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbells have been called possibly the “best adjustable dumbbells in the world," made even better through teamwork. As part of REP's Inventor Series, these dumbbells span 10-125lbs at only 18.3" long, featuring all-metal construction, easy magnetic pop-pin adjustments, high-end details, and much more.

Inventor Series: REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ Adjustable Dumbbell
REP® has innovative minds on our Colorado-based engineering team. At the same time, we sometimes run across other inventors doing awesome things. These are our people. We want to support them. That's why we created the Inventor Series: a special line of products invented by small, outstanding inventors from around the world. We collaborate with the best of the best. And then work closely alongside them to optimize their ideas, using our resources and knowledge of the home and commercial gym market. The goal is to simultaneously lift up other gym equipment inventors, while making their amazing products more accessible to more people. It's a win-win-win. The REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbell is a partnership between REP and Canada-based Pépin.
Meet the REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbell. These premier adjustable dumbbells are heavier and more compact than most adjustable dumbbells on the market. An adjustable dumbbell that starts at 10lbs and can go up to 125lbs at only 18.3” long is pretty much unheard of. All steel, CNC-cut plates with a black powder coating allow the dumbbells to be incredibly compact, very accurate, and look and feel great. In addition, they’re extremely durable. Both the dumbbells and the cradles are constructed entirely of metal (with UHMW liners to prevent steel-on-steel contact) and have been extensively drop-tested from every angle. The steel cradles allow you to rerack the dumbbells without worrying about being overly gentle, as would be the case if the cradles were plastic.
And it’s quick, easy, safe, and satisfying to change the weight in 10lb increments – with just the press of a magnetic pop-pin. Adjust weight inside or outside the cradles (ideal for drop sets). Or add the included 2.5lb micro-plates for smaller adjustments. Adjustable dumbbells take up a small footprint in your gym, especially when compared with a standard set of 10-125lb dumbbells.
The REP® x PÉPIN dumbbells are offered in 85lb, 105lb, or 125lb pairs. The 85lb pair meets the needs of most lifters but is still upgradeable to the heavier options in the future. The cradle also expands, so no matter the weight, you never need to buy a new cradle; simply unscrew the end pieces and screw them back into the correct, pre-drilled holes. These dumbbells feature high-end details, like nickel-plated handles with volcano-style knurling; functional side rails with comfortable, rounded outside edges;

If you wanna do 1 arm rows with 125 you can buy the 85s and take weights off one dumbbell and put them on the other.

Got mine. These things are fantastic. The feel, the speed, the ability to go heavy. It really is a game changer at the price point.

Great review, sir!! The hype with these has been fun to watch, now finally starting to be delivered - my name is Jared, and I’m a home gym nerd. You all, “Hi, Jared.”

Got mine yesterday and with FedEx accidentally shipping the remaining weights to Texas by accident. I order the 125’s got the initial base and weight to total to 110. Called Rep this morning and we figured the delivery driver didn't notice the packages separated during delivery and now I have to wait until next week to complete the set. Other than that, the product is amazing, looks and functions great. Easy to use, great knurl on the handle, minimum shaking between the plates. Reps customer service was also helpful tracking down this issue and quick to help out and correct this. I suggested for them to secure all the boxes together with the plastic ties so this wont happen to other customers. Hopefully they take the suggestion.

Mine arrived this past Wed 23 Oct. My original ship date was 20 Aug. I have two workouts under my belt and I must say I am very impressed with them. Great jot REPxPEPPIN. Awesome collaboration.

I have 5-75lb urethanes. I decided to keep the fixed 5-50lb and sell off the 55-75lb fixed urethanes to pay off my repins coming soon next year. I also order the black widow stand in clear grind clear coat for the repins. its always great to owned fixed and adjustable dumbbells to save space and money. keeping the lighter fixed dumbbells to high reps to avoid rattle and use adjustable dumbbell for heavy reps only. The repin rattles isnt too bad it reminds me of iron sound.

I have the Nuobells and they are amazing. No issues and they feel great in hand. The stands (I have both versions) are nice as well, and everything has a "premium" feel and looks aesthetically pleasing. The only improvement I could think of would be more weight, as 80 really limits them to accessory movements and not pressing---unless you want to do cardio with them, lol. I don't love the "cage" setup of the ones being reviewed, but the fact that they go up to 125 pounds is a big selling point, especially if you like dumbbell bench. The extra durability is needed with 125's since you might have situation where you run out of steam and need to drop them occasionally. You could probably sneak on a couple of magnetic platemates too and have 130 or 135 at your disposal. So, I would certainly take a look at this, Nuobell and Snode, if I was in the market. Sticking with my Nuo's for now.

Nice video. Rattle isn’t bad considering the price and durability compared to others. Zero rattle is the Ironmasters and they are more compact too. I’m happy with the Reppins, they did a great job and it’s an awesome collab with Pepin.

Correction: The Rep Fitness step-in stand is not at pre-order status; it is simply coming soon. As to timing, the stand should be available by March 2025 and the walk-in stand will be available 2Q 2025.

Zotman curls cause a rattle due to rotating the DB for the downward motion.

Love the sound test, thanks for doing that.

Great video brother. I'm really curious about the feel of cage / box feel of these compared to the quick change one such as nuobell. I love my snode's and am seriously considering cancelling my pre-order in case it's too similar to how the p blocks felt. For sure, this is personal preference though.

I keep on getting delayed for my shipment. Also, I used your link to buy a few months ago.

Great review, was thinking of using that Powerblock stand!

Btw for power blocks I bought two handles. One of my handles always has the adder weights and I stuffed a piece of foam in there and jammed it down. My PowerBlock adder weights are virtually silent.

Excellent review Jonathan, thank you! I especially like the side by side comparison with the Powerblocks. I wonder if the Reppin side cages, handle flanges, or adder weight pop pins get in the way during the exercise or when trying to release the dumbbell from your hands. I have the PowerBlock Pro Exp urethane 90s with a 40mm handle and I’ve not had any impingements on my hands due to the PB cage.
