I agree with your thoughts. I am in awe of how God is taking "Bible Stories, " infusing them with His creativity, much like He did Bezalel and Oholiab when the articles of the tabernacle were made, and opening the eyes of millions so they can come into the Kingdom.
I would say to the critiques of these shows, the ones who "only what the Holy words of Scripture, " to realize there is so much more to these stories than we are willing to admit. When reading Daniel as an example, our brains fill in details (pictures in our heads) without any conscious effort on our part. We can "see" Daniel kneeling at his window three times a day to pray, allowing him to be taken to the lions den by jealous people, and walking out the next day unharmed. That's how I view The Chosen and David. Bezalel and Oholiab are writing scripts so others can see God's Grace, Mercy, Salvation more quickly.
A slow, thoughtful, meditative (seeking God for answers) reading of Exodus 31gives us a glimpse of the work involved for these tasks. What it doesn't give us is the thought processes of these men and "all the skilled workers" He gave ability to. We're they every night when they finished for the day? Did they drag home demanding to be left alone to rest? Did they come in sharing with excitement the details of making a gold dish, the poles to hang the curtains, or making the dyes for the threads to embroider the curtains. None of that is "scriptural" but it is a fact of their work lives regardless if we know the details or not.
All that to say yes, I agree with you and enjoy your insight.

It really is an unbelievable moment in time! Kinda like a watershed moment. As I’m writing this Biblical content has three slots on the top ten at Box Office and two slots on the top ten on Prime. Crazy!!!

Brandon, I completely understand where you are coming from with this. I grew up with most Faith based media, being pretty bad lol. The only one that was better than the norm.Thats "Jesus of Nazareth." I believe that the Chosen paved the way for the newer shows.My favorite, next to The Chosen, is House of David. I was so blown away by house of David! It was very Chosenesque to me. It definitely had differences that made it stand out, but it reminded me of The Chosen in all the best ways (cinematography, costuming etc). God is definitely showing himself.Just my two cents 💙

Also shout out for Sight and Sound Theater in Branson. They do high quality shows which match if not exceed quality of Broadway. Seems like revival in the country. My son’s public school has weekly gatherings for night of worship. They descend on someone’s home about 300 students. Holy Spirit working overtime now.

I grew up with movies like The Greatest Story Ever Told, Ben-Hur, Song of Bernadette, The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima, Going My Way, - and the emmy winning Bishop Sheen on weekly television. I am delighted to find quality Christian productions making such a strong comeback.
