Villa Anassa is situated on the quiet, unspoilt island of Kythira, which although attracting some tourism, is still very much a naïve island destination. Kythira remains dependent in great part on it’s traditional farming and agricultural rhythms, reminiscent of a nostalgic Greece some 40 years ago.
Villa Anassa is located just outside the quaint hill-side hamlet of Gerakari (Geraki = place of the raptor) perched at approximately 400m above sea-level at the edge of the largest forest on Kythira.
The altitude and cooling breezes offer some respite from the very hottest summer temperatures.

Gerakari forest and adjacent sea area is granted NATURA 2000 status which offers a protected habitat for flora and fauna including rare orchids, dwarf tulips, narcissi, gladioli and iris’s, as well as a large array of migratory birds and protected raptors coming through annually.
