How is that backfiring? Backfiring is when the same thing you demonize winds up being the cause of your demise. Tunisians are still racists and that is not the reason that he is having problems.
He is having problems because of all the other problems that his country has.
That is not backfiring, that is failing in 'Wagging the dog' or "Diverting attention".

I never accepted that term sub-Saharan. It's a political phrase used to claim "Black African" origins are below the desert.

I think it's a way to insinuate that there were no Black people in North Africa in antiquity and that Middle Eastern and North African people were of some kind of non-Black origin when in fact when the origins of ancient civilizations we're being built there were no non Black people
