Tunisia's President Kais Saied issued a decree on Sunday to create a new judicial watchdog.
Saied, said removing the judicial council was necessary as Tunisians wanted the country 'cleansed'. The president now has the power to dismiss judges and has removed their right to strike.
Following a 2 day strike by Tunisia's Judges Association on Wednesday. Protests are expected on Sunday as many view the move as a power grab with fears that anger over the new decree could spark violence.
