It’s amazing what can be built with foam! Today we put the finishing touches on a 9 foot beech 18. This DIY aircraft is built using our Flitetest Makerfoam. Many times people believe the big aircraft are expensive and difficult to fly. This is simply not the case especially when it’s made out of this light and strong material. As we prepare the final touches on our build, David adds smoke to the wings to re-create the classic lines, and looks of our favorite airshow pilot, Matt Younkin. We also have a special surprise for Michael Bixler, a beautiful QAV Pro Lifter drone from our friends at GetFPV. This new aerial platform carries a variety of large high-quality cameras today we choose to not only put one but two of our favorite cameras from Insta 360. This gives us a unique ability to not only capture what’s in front of the drone, but also what behind and around. Michael’s aspirations and talent are leading him down a new career as a professional UAS pilot. In order to fulfill these dreams, Michael is using the training course from pilot Institute to prepare for his 107 certification there’s never been a better time to make your passion your profession, especially when it involves flight. Today’s video has many ups, and also some pretty amazing crashes. Let the fun begin!

Being from Kansas, the general aviation heritage is what got me into model aviation! The scale flying Beechcraft, Cessna, etc. are some of my favorite models, and it's great to see such nice scale designs

I've always thought that the Beech 18 (and the Lockheed Electra) was one of the most beautiful airplanes in the sky. You folks have really done a proper homage to the design. I loved loved loved this video. You guys ROCK!

As a kid in the 70’s and 80’s, my grandpa was an A&P. The airport in Georgia that he worked out of was a skydiving center and they had 2 old D-18’s. In the Georgia heat of the summer, I “flew “ many missions in both those old planes 😉. I did get to fly in them for real on a few occasions hauling jump loads. One in particular was extremely memorable because we had guys hanging on the railing on the outside of the plane from takeoff to altitude. I think we had 4 hanging on the outside and I can assure you that it’s pretty unnerving to have someone looking in the cockpit at you at 12 k. Great memories of a great airplane. Much love from NC.

He estado en el hobby por 35 años y he aprendido que un avión más pesado es más fácil de manejar con viento. Ese beechcraft tiene el tamaño y peso ideal .

Wow, first started watching when it was Josh & Josh. Got myself a bnf fixed wing but life happened and didn’t do much more. Last year I got a drone and part 107 for real estate work and just started getting into fpv. Tune back into the channel and now Bixler’s son is getting into commercial fpv… congrats! But also I feel old

So guys, I usually like to comment. First let me say I finally got to see you on a full-size TV
Haven't had a television in 15 years so I'm working on a simple scout while watching the tutorial video on a big screen TV rather than on my cell phone. What a pleasure. So now onto my usual comment about how much I love the video. And it doesn't change much from week to week cuz you guys are always pushing the envelope. Where I live I no longer have a basement so I can't do balsa construction anymore. Can't make a mess in the living room right so the foam board kits are just the cat's meow for me. I love how you guys build bigger and better and more fun into every video you do.its simply the Best thing going on in RC on the internet. Thanks again for a great 20 minutes when I got home from using the simulator at my local hobby shop. As always John from Canada. So cool to see your son on the drone it was great footage that video was fantastic as usual. I'm being a little long-winded don't forget to use the rudder over and out

That looked sweet. Like it was losing an engine. Fun stuff as always. Cool build. Yes, make more large models. Spruce Goose? Four electric props per side. Counter rotation. On location some lake somewhere....? That's my request anyway.
It's really amazing to see what this has become. Truly inspiring. 💯
