Forgive the messy video, the editing program I used crashed on me 5 times and even 2 more times while exporting. This is the hardest I've worked on a video so far, but there's still more to come! I hope you like it!

I feel like alternatives/changlings that don’t look like normal ponies don’t really have the perfect picture of a pony in their minds completely which causes them to shape shift into a creature that has pony features.

It was nighttime in Ponyville. Whilst the other ponies were resting into a slumber, Rarity was finishing up on her latest dress. Besides the clacking of her sewing machine, the boutique was the quietest it could ever be.

Rarity jumped in shock when she heard a knock on the door. “Sorry darling, I’m closed for tonight. Mind coming back tomorrow?” It was quiet again for a few seconds, and then the knocking continued. “I said we’re closed, come back tomorrow.” Rarity said in slight agitation. The knocking got progressively more intense. Feeing concerned, Rarity peeked through the window to see who would be causing such a ruckus this late at night.

Another pony, that looked similar to her, but not quite. Something was off, way off, but Rarity couldn’t put her hoof on it. Before she could react, the door flung open.

Sweetie Belle had woken up to the sound of the door breaking down, followed by Rarity’s shrieking. Scared, she slowly went down the stairs and into the boutique. “Rarity, ” Sweetie Belle whispered, “Are you okay?”

Rarity was standing in the middle of the room. Her body was strangely elongated, head hanging low. “… Rarity?” Sweetie Belle asked again. This “Rarity” snapped its head in a 180 degree turn, revealing blacked out eyes and a wide grimace.

Sweetie Belle than felt two hooves yank her out of the room and into the hallway. It was the real Rarity who had hid her from the unsuspecting creature.

“Rarity, what was that thing?!” Sweetie Belle asked, choking tears. “I don’t know, ” Rarity replied, “but stay quiet. We cannot let it hear us.”

this is less "realistic" than most horror art I see but I think that adds to the creepiness of it, very well done on the alter rarity's design!!
