Rabbi, I don’t think she meant that. I really believe she meant to say that with God in our hearts we are guided to follow the right path because obviously then, we would be following His precepts, His commandments, His way.

After all, conservatives already come in with the total understanding that this nation was created by God, that it was meant to be because this is what God wanted. So therefore, when you come in already knowing, that it is a given, that this is God’s project, she made the comment the way she did.

Therefore, what she spoke, with that precept in mind, that it is a given that we believe in Him, we must always use His ways to guide us in our actions, how we think, and then what we do.

I believe she meant exactly what you said and got her meaning immediately.
