Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 Relaunch | Still Worth It In 2020?

In this video, we are taking a closer look at one of the new relaunched Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 drones and discuss whether it is still a good purchase in 2020. This drone was out of stock for most of 2019 and DJI relaunched it at CES this year and for the most part, the hardware and features are the same. With all the new drones that are available right now and with some of the new drones that will be launching in the next few months it makes it difficult to decide what drone is the best to get. Personally, I think the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 is the best bang for your buck at this point as long as portability is not one of your top priorities in a drone.

Started with a P3P, and brought a Mavic Air into the fold to have...well...a folding capability. Thought the P5 was just over the horizon when the Mavic Air came. I was going to skip generations of Phantom and everything seemed fine. Except the P5 never came and I was left without a P4P to fill in the gap from 1080p/60 to 4K/60. Sure, the Mavic Air gave me 2k/60 with 100mbit, but the image quality in low light was never that good. Add to the fact that the Mavic Air is filled with "ghosts" that glitch every now and then. When the Mavic Air works, it works. When it doesn't it's like an evil little bird bent on bloodlust. So to have the P4Pv2 back, is an amazing thing. The P4Pv2 is super quiet, is great in wind and gives me that awesome image quality. Dunno where the P5 is, and I'm excited that a Mavic Air v2 is in the rumor mill. I am glad I finally got my P4Pv2. No more waiting. Too bad of the tariffs though.

The mechanical shutter is used only in stills!! In video its called global shutter! It still is an electronic shutter though.
The global shutter takes each video frame at once unlike the rolling shutter which reads out the sensor line by line.

Hey! Can you help me with this? I'm working on a project in the field of river engineering. I require obtaining a digital elevation model of the river and its floodplain for flood scenario simulation. I've heard a method that uses drone photogrammetry along Structure from Motion (SfM) to generate a digital elevation model. For this, I was planning to get an 'inexpensive' drone like the DJI Mavic 2 Pro / DJI P4Pro. I've heard the global shutter in the P4Pro would fit my needs best. However, I have yet no experience at all on this topic, any suggestion?!

Absolutely yes! Video quality is better than Mavic 2 pro and has slightly higher max speed. Mavic wins only in portability and aesthetics terms. The fact that mavic has OcSynch 2 is still negligeable

Im wanting to use a drone for several key shots during a documentary about a whitewater kayaker. Im going to fly above him while he is doing sections of various creeks. I was looking at MP2, Autel, and Phantom series. Ive also considered buying a much cheaper one to learn on as I have a few months before shooting starts. The only drone ive used is a $20 JRCH36 and its a toy. I guess my question is...does it make sense to buy a $500 drone to learn on or do I just go for it and buy a big boy?

I've owned a Phantom4 in 2016 and had a blast, traveled internationally too with it.
I wanna get back to the drone game again but I'm overwhelmed by the options in 2021.
For someone who just cares about the aerial footage quality, would you recommend it in 2021?

Hey, I only discovered this the other day, are you aware that there is a x2 zoom on the Phantom 4? I discovered it by accident. Very cool feature. I’ve never seen anyone covering it on YouTube.
