Broken Rolex Submariner Restoration - $11,000 Diving Watch

This time I´m restoring a Rolex Submariner from 2008. It´s powered by the Rolex 3135 Caliber.

The watch is in bad condition. The case is scratched, the glass is broken, and the bezel is completely destroyed. Surprisingly the watch is still running but not very accurate.

After polishing and cleaning the case, the movement gets a complete service. The bezel and glass are beyond repair, so I need my time-machine again ;)

After everything is cleaned and polished, I can re-assemble the movement with some fresh oil. After that, this watch is in a fantastic beat (+1 seconds per day) again.

I hope you liked this restoration, if so, like, comment and subscribe ;)

My favorite scene in Toy Story 2 is when old man Geri restores Woody to like-new condition and stitches his arm back on. The way the entire scene is shot, underscoring even the most mundane tasks such as opening a drawer or shaking a paint jar, always stuck with me.

Every time I watch one of your videos, I am reminded of that scene.

The fact that the watch was still running despite the condition it was in really tells you something about how good these watches are. Amazing.

I truly appreciate your craftsmanship, perfectionism, and integrity. To be honest with you, I can't explain why your videos have helped me teach my brain to fight depression. Thanks so much!

The thing I like about your videos is that you are a Real passionate Professional watchmaker. The tools, you used to open the watch, cleaning all of them, assembling the watch back together, I mean you use a dedicated tool/machine for everything. It's mesmerizing to see all the steps. Awesome job with this one. And I reckon this is the best video you showed us so far. Not to mention the intro :)

Yet another stunning restoration! The videos you included in the beginning as well as the time machine were hilarious! Lastly the English subtitles worked perfectly for me! Great job!

I own two submariner watches. The first one is a stainless steel watch that I bought back in 1977 and the second one is a combination stainless steel and gold with a blue face that I bought as a gift to me when I retired in 2012.
After watching this video I am learning to appreciate even more what I have in these watches. This is the only jewelry that I own.

Awesome video. You are a true technician and professional

Damn, a rolex that has actually been used, instead of being left inside a glass case and dusted off every morning and only worn every 5 years

Question in my mind is how in the world do you remember where each tiny screw goes upon reassembly ❓ Yikes ❗️ SO intricately fascinating, much respect!
