First, Dame Judi, my very favourite person - "All things are mine, since I am His"... you spoke this phrase so beautifully that it touched my soul... and of course Aled's singing is always that of an angel. Thank you both... Grace personified

After 5 months, I finally added this gem to my morning playlist. I do wish they would record a few more. Perhaps one expressing Dame Judi Dench 's love of trees .

My life flows on in endless song
Above the earth's lamentation
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
That hails a new creation

No storm can shake my inmost calm
While to that rock I'm clinging
It sounds an echo in my soul
How can I keep from singing?)

What though the tempest 'round me roars?
I know the truth it liveth
What though the darkness 'round me close?
Songs in the night it giveth

No storm can shake my inmost calm
While to that rock I'm clinging
Since Love is Lord of heaven and earth
How can I keep from singing?

(How can I keep from singing?
It sounds an echo in my soul)

I lift my eyes, the cloud grows thin
I see the blue above it
And day by day this pathway smooths
Since first I learned to love it

The peace of Christ makes fresh my heart
A fountain ever springing
(All things are mine since I am his)
How can I keep from singing?
(How can I keep from singing?)

I have song in choirs for over 50 years, and I have sung this beautiful song too many times to count, but I have never heard it so beautifully and peacefully song as Aled did. Thank you Aled, Please keep on singing. By the way I am a contralto.

This reminds me of the times of my going to Scotland - and this year 2022 is the 40th year of my travels there. I have one or two who detract my choice of this. I meet it, - and say. I have been there all those times. So shall it be!

Another masterpiece by Aled! And how wonderful to hear Dame Judy, as well.

I've had some storms that have wrought it's adversities on me! I will never keep from singing as a Church Chorister I will keep on singing because I think of my family that have gone on before me.

Absolutely STUNNING, Aled and Dame Judi!
Aled, your rendition of this song on your "ALED" album in 2002 was beautiful, and now this new interpretation .... utterly breathtaking! xxxx

One of my favourites! Great to hear Dame Judy giving the words a timeless pause! Glad you managed to survive the drones and seagulls whilst filming the video!

I think the ' drones' might be Northumbrian pipes! Just one step behind bagpipes. Though I would think that this anthem would work just as well with them! I might just get a copy of this and find out if it could do so.

I have been thinking! - and some might say that may well be a bit haphazard to do so! - this hymn or anthem might be a good one to try to sort out a Ukrainian translation and have youngsters in this country, from that very torn up land sing it. A verse in Ukraine language. I think that it's certainly a task to be pursued by a well established choir. Too!

I might try to track down this hymn/anthem too. Aled Jones performed it on his Blessings album. I wonder? Aled, what do you think of it?
