Mask wearing has become controversial in the United States, even as data are amassing that masks may help limit spread of the coronavirus. Not much has been known about the effectiveness of cloth masks, so a researcher set up a home lab to test whether these masks can reduce the amount of potentially virus-laden material people expel from their mouths and noses. Forgive me, but seeing some of the images and how much of air is coming through the mask even clearly at lower speed it does not really persuade me that they work.
