Asoka was a progressive rock band from Malmö. Patrik Erixson had previously been the drummer in the 1960s band Taste of Blues and after a short time as Take Off, this band was named Asoka after the Bengtsson brothers joined in 1971. The band's self-titled album Asoka (Sonet SLP-2527) was released the same year and was produced by Bo Winberg of The Spotnicks . The album was reissued in 2005 on CD with previously unreleased bonus tracks by both Taste of Blues and Take Off. Claes Ericsson and Robert Larsson were later members of Lotus .
