Wooden Shutter Install Part 1
In this video our head installer Peter will take you through the process of how to unpack your wooden plantation shutters correctly to avoid damaging your window shutters.
To start with you will need to give yourself plenty of space and room to operate in. This will make the process of unpacking a lot easier. Not only will you need room for the boxed shutters but you’ll need room for your tools, the various components of the shutters when unpacked and room for the packaging.
All our wooden shutters are shipped with protective bubble wrap and a thin protective sheet within the cardboard box to prevent the shutters getting broken or damaged in transit. Delivery times can be up to 10 weeks including manufacturing so when you’ve waited that long for the to arrive we want to make sure they’re in A1 condition.
The only tool you’ll need to unpack with is a sharp Stanley Knife or sharp knife. This can be used to break through the tape which holds the exterior cardboard packaging together and to cut through the internal tape on the inside packaging which keeps the wooden shutters wrapped and together. Be very careful when using the knife not to cut too deep through the packaging and into the shutters themselves which could damage the wooden shutter and or the finish.
