Appreciated your distinction between 'discussion groups' and 'engagement groups'.

For an analogy:
- Discussion groups - Your friends who care about your work and will give real feedback.
- Engagement groups - The movie "Mean Girls". People who will build you up as long as it is benefiting themselves.

As they say work smarter, not harder. After learning more about the algorithm and how instagram works, I really got more patient and engaging with other people. Thanks for the valuable info! And yes, discussion group sounds fun, at least in terms of meeting new people and having a critical opinion on your work.

Great video Jonny! People have tried to pull me into local South Florida engagement groups. Frankly, I find that kind of thing exhausting. I'm too busy out there making real money with my photography. I'll comment on posts that I like when I get time and I will answer all genuine comments posted to one of my photos. from 6.40 seconds in, you convinced me.. so true about being better off putting your time and energy into your actual content. I think the days of people trying to outsmart IG's algorithms are over.. or will be pretty soon. I've had a few account with 20k followers, but i'm not willing to take any risks with my music account. Slow and steady wins the race in this case i think. Thanks for the content dude :)

A discussion group would be awesome, where people see your work and give you tips to improve, not only say great, or wonderful but also say if you have missed something. 😍

Hey Jonny, thanks for sharing this video. I was honestly overthinking my followers and engagement, thought that I would join one, but after hearing your insight... I feel like it reminded me of what I keep telling myself, "trust the process". It's best to focus my energy on my content than on the engagement group. I agree Jonny....your groups should reflect your account goals...instead of a strategy to grow followers ( although once established you could filter for a particular group) I've noticed more of a response when my content is specific to my culture, relevant and good caption 🦐
