I've been singing along to this song for well over a couple of decades. One night I got drunk and confessed to my Jamaican brother law that I was totally mystify as to what the lyrics of the song meant, when he explain it was about a horse, a real outsider dying during a race everything fall into place

I used top have this single but was swindled out of it by someone who said he would trade it for a genuine 60s straight black tie. It turned out to be fake and the record turned out to be worth some money. I was a stupid youth
