Seeing this a few weeks after making my own. The drilling process seems tedious but I understand it makes the holes uniform, I used a slightly thinner piece of wood and got some short nails which i angled (hammered them to a suitable angle) after nailing in. Lucky peeps in the USA have actual carpet tack strips.

Thank you for this video! I have tack strip at my local stores but they don't have nearly enough nails in them for properly holding fabric in place and I didn't want to double up on it.
