We're gonna have another theater organ over here in Brooklyn! The Loew's Kings! I can't wait! It's gonna drive up rents but we can always move out and visit!

I can't believe some of the ignorant comments made below. Radio City Music Hall its organ (with 2 consoles) is a national treasure.

@newyorkreel

Correction...ONE organ, TWO consoles controlling the same set of pipes. Truly a magical sight none-the-less.

Unfortunately, this duo doesn't even come close to Liebert & Bohr.

Anyways, thanks for posting the video...Brings back a lot of memories.

I would even love to see this organ played twice as long before the show - not a mere five minutes! It would be fantastic and a great reat to everyone!

Great video thanks!. RCMH management really does not think much of the Wurlitzer. There's NOT ONE PICTURE OF IT in their guide! Pictures of everything else though! Whatta diss!

Exactly why I haven't been back since the 70's, People won't shut the hell up while the Show is on .

I also agree with bobbymak880: Radio City Music Hall should take a nice color picture of the console and publish it as a poster and have it for sale both in the lobby after the show and online. I bet ever theater organist in the country would love to have a picture of it. They could print the specfication at the bottom and include all the toy stops. The banner above could read: RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL - WURLITZER THEATER ORGAN

It's not an easy feat playing one of these mighty beasts.

Sadly these kind of videos don't do the instrument any justice, you have to hear the organ live to appreciate the immense power and subtlety they can create.

Great video, wonderful to see. Who's the organist?

No other theater and organ like it in New York

Yes there are 2 identical consoles squeezed into rooms originally meant for singers just off the stage. Unfortunately they no longer amplify the organ, giving you a distorted balance if you are closer to one of the sides of the theater as the chambers are on both sides of the stage.

Seems like there must be someone at the second console but neither mentioned nor shown. (RCMH Wurli has two identical consoles 0 one stage left and one stage right.)

I have many fond memories as a child in the early '40s visiting NYC and the Music Hall.

I would love to hear my Christmas song played on a big organ like this by a professional organist? Youtube have generated it Bill Mckechnie Fluffy Snow

4/58, actually, designed by Kimball and based on their 4/55 at the Atlantic City Convention Hall Ballroom (where it inevitably tends to get overshadowed by its 7/446 neighbour!). Kimball then pulled out of TPOs and the job went to Wurlitzer, who were given no say in the specification. I agree that it needs to be much more widely publicised.
