EU doesn't like Citizenship by Investment Programs.

The recent scandal with the Cypriot program was the straw that broke the camel's back. EU decided to take legal action against CBI programs in order to shut them down for good.

They believe that EU citizenship and values are not for sale, and that individuals shouldn't have the ability to buy their way into Europe.

Michael, if you haven't done so as yet, maybe you should do a video on alternative residencies and citizenships to the EU in Europe.

The problem with "citizenship by investment" was that the people it attracted were Russians and Chinese who are trying to take their "money of questionable source" out of their countries. The programs are not the problem (like, the guns themselves are not the problem), but the people it attracted were overwhelmingly from one region of the world.

The people invest their money, get citizenship, and don't move to that country. So "the only thing" they are contributing is the money.

Investigative journalism is a "kind" way to phase it. Question: Could a person with a passport from Turkey or Montenegro open business banking in Singapore or Switzerland?
