Here is a recap with East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Spokesperson Steve Aubert on the Cypress Complex Fire in the City of Oakley as they battled 3 major fires Sunday morning.

The first fire was at 3:08 am in the 3500 block of Gateway Road on Bethel Island. The second was at 5:00 am on Bethel Island Road in the City of Oakley and the third was at Knightsen Avenue at 5:13 am.

The incident caused evacuations in the City of Oakley in the Summer Lakes neighborhood where residents were told they could go to the Community Center after the fire was 10 acres and threatening homes due to embers from the wind. At least 1 horse was deceased in the incident.

A total of 6 strike teams were requested. Oakley Police and Contra Costa County Sheriff and Brentwood Police provided traffic control. More than 1,100 PG&E customers were without power.

By 8:33 am, the fire district lifted the evacuation orders.
