On this Episode of Ben's worx I make a wood and resin project, The Hybrid dragon egg from epoxy resin and burl, I made the resin blank from walnut burl and ArtCast epoxy resin, I left it to cure in the Pressure pot and once removed I had a clear resin cast. I turned the cast on the wood lathe using HSS chisels.

That dragon egg came out beautifully. :D I wouldn't say the ball was a failure though. I would cast the ball again in more resin and then give it another go. :D - Heidi

really nice work mate came out pretty cool, no such thing as failure its just another chance to get experience, i have turned spheres loads of em and i have not done one i was proud of yet and for some strange reason they all end up half the original size before i give in and try again, thanks for sharing it lets others know they are not the only ones left with odd shaped paper weights, cheers Ross

Came out beautiful, I would save the ball and put in the middle of another batch of resin. That way you can try it again with the same ball. Great job.

Can't make an omelet if you don't break a few eggs!

I'm seriously considering about
a crystal ball for the top of your staff. What are you thinking? 😉

I suspect the problem with the fail is that you didn't stabilise the wood.

Ben practice makes perfect. I view it has an experiment with the sphere shape. U are a skilled resin artist mate.

If you don't have a pressure pot, is there any way to get the bubbles out? Love your work!
