I always had Taken Spec on my weapons because I used to be a hardcore Gambit player, and extra Primeval damage is always nice.

Update for new players who happen to watch this short after the release of TFS: these don't exist anymore. Idk why YouTube decided to recommend this short to me after TFS released (obv the algorithm doesn't know they were removed but it is a 3 mo old at time of writing short). Either way, some of the better universally good mods in this slot now are Backup Mag, Counterbalance Stock, and maybe Icarus/Freehand Grip. Backup Mag is probably your best bet for casual play until you're more familiar with mods since it provides a flat boost to the ammo in your weapon which means less reloading and hence more damage. It is likely the mod you'll choose the most because it is so straightforward while still being quite powerful in its own right. Counterbalance Stock is probably not fantastic but I like using it because it makes the kick of your gun more predictable, meaning I hit more of my shots and deal more damage. Icarus Grip makes the weapon easier to use when you're in the air, which is common in the game, though this is more of a PVP perk typically. Freehand grip makes the weapon easier to fire from the hip, great for grenade launchers and other weapons you'll often fire from the hip such as like shotguns. However, to get the benefits from the latter two perks requires some thinking, so if you want to just have some dumb fun use Backup Mag. It works just fine.

I actually didn’t know the exact numbers for those mods, I’m always hesitant to throw the taken mod on because I know I’ll forget it’s equipped and leave it on forever 😅

Boss spec was updated recently to where it now buffs damage against champions as well

Champions are now classed under boss spec, not major spec if I'm remembering correctly.

the miniboss dmg from major spec has been moved to boss spec
2.
the dmg buff of Minor, Major, Boss and Adept Big Ones Spec is 7.77, or rounded 7.8, not 7.7 (minimal difference, but I just wanted to point it out)

Champions were switched on boss spec with the recent update 🚨

Farmed the solo chests for probably 3 months before it finally dropped for me but I find it worth it! Always have it equipped on at least one of my Gambit loadout weapons for burning the large blockers and Primevil Envoys down quicker~

You can also hit an enemy with witherhoard turning them technically taken and take advantage of taken spec at any point
