The Giant Huntsman is a Cave Spider of Nightmarish Proportions

This fearsome-looking spider, the Giant Huntsman is a creature straight out of your deepest nightmares. It was discovered in the Pak Ou Caves of Laos, in 2001.

It was only discovered in 2001.
Makes sense because when I read spider books in the 1990s it listed the giant birdeater as the largest spider in the world.
Today they basically share that record, because the tarantula is more massive while the huntsman has a longer armspan.

I love how at least two clearly different huntsmen, most likely of different species, were used to create the illusion of a seemingly continous scenario. I absolutely adore when nature documentaries are made such amateurishly.

Am I the only one who's curious about the giant cricket as well? If the spider is over 10" then that cricket is close to it.. I've never heard of a cricket being that big.
