All you need to make a soda slushy is the bottle of soda and a freezer. Shake the soda vigorously while it's still sealed and put it instantly in the freezer for around 3 hours and 15 minutes. Then take it out and open it super slowly releasing the pressure. Pour into a chilled glass and the super cooled liquid will instantly turn into a delicious frozen slushy! There's a video on it, super awesome trick.

You do know that just popping the top to release pressure from a 2 liter of mountain dew, and then placing the lid back and putting the whole bottle in the freezer for three hours will do the same thing. Only it doesn't take six hours, or added sugar, and doesn't need to be mixed in a blender? The only thing you need to accurately calculate is the exact amount of time you need to reach the consistency of your slush. For a quick example I mostly do this until it slushes as soon as you Crack the cap. Easier to do with smaller sizes in the classic glass bottles. They are room temperature, placed into freezer for exactly one hour. They look normal until you open it and you can watch as it lightly slushes, but remains perfectly drinkable.
