I first saw it, on tv.when I was a
teenager, in the early 70's.
Mickey Rooney is perfect for the role
of Huck Finn and I think it's the BEST
version. He's such a talented actor.
He can be hilarious at times and can
also touch your heart with his
dramatic was in tears
by the end of the movie.

Great movie, it's a shame you can't get all of his movies on here or anywhere. I was looking for the Andy Hardy movies, also The Men of boys town as I watched Boys Town I loved that movie but I can't find the second one.

Loved that film, it’s the closest I’ve seen yet to the book — which I love.
One change made that I wholeheartedly approve of was having Jim be clearly intelligent and passionate about his need for Freedom.
As I remember it, ‘Jim’ in the book is usually timid (understandably so), uneducated and gullible — if not actually dim-witted.
…So much better (and more Just) to cast Jim as he is, here! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

A young (and less angst-ridden) Mickey Rooney was the perfect choice for the role of Huck, he seemed to Live the part!
…All the casting was excellent, in My opinion — as with ‘Tom Sawyer’ which was also made at around this time-period,

I am glad that the Screenplay left-out the whole feud between Families; to Me — that’s the least enjoyable part of the book.
