Glad you mentioned the liver location. We were practicing ending a combo with liver shot. I am a registered Nurse. I was hitting where...yanno....the liver is. One of the coaches was wanting me to basically hit the floating is still a good yeah, liver is right where you showed lol

The liver is in an interesting spot. When you aim for it, you miss, yet when you got for a regular body shot, you hit the liver!!

The reason you aim where you do on the torso for a liver shot is because that’s where it pokes out from under your rib cage, the rest is protected by bone. With gloves sure go for it, maybe it’ll work, but without gloves go for the softer target

My boxing master taught me something similar, because he also said to throw an uppercut rather than a hook, but to try and land it behind the elbow so it would go clean into the liver.
