The guy who’s motor blew was at a sanctioned auto cross even which was part of a membership that Toyota offered with the car. The reason why they didn’t wanna cover it is because they checked his social media and saw him drifting it. But Toyota corporate did the right thing and fixed it. Lesson learned, always scrub stuff that could give them a reason to not cover it. And also, contact corporate if the swine of a dealer declines, even though you didn’t do anything wrong.

God I’m so addicted to this channel it’s absurd.

The 228hp is underrated. On a dyno these cars are making 209hp-220hp to the wheels. BRZ and GR86 engines are actually making roughly 250hp.

I love the Sub/Toy BRZ/86's and so glad that Subaru and also Mazda haven't completely forgotten about us non-SUV loving drivers.

I bought a 2013 Scion FR-S new and by March of 2020 I had put 186, 000 mi on it on my commute. That car is the most fun I've ever had in any car I've ever owned and it is ridiculously reliable. But in March of 2020, I started working from home and a year later retired, so the only thing I use that car for now, literally is to drive back and forth to church every few weeks to keep the seals from drying out.

I put nine sets of Michelin SS on that car and here in Kentucky on these beautiful twisties that I drove to work everyday I did my share of drifting, but the tires are so sticky that most of the time it was a slot car. And I averaged 34 miles per gallon. The reason I keep it is because license and insurance are very inexpensive out here and I believe the car has bottomed out in value. It will only be more valuable as time goes on. So I've become that old guy that has a classic sports car in his garage from when he was younger except I wasn't that young. I was 59 when I bought it.

This car Harkins back to the days when my friends and I drove Austin-Healey 3000s, opal gts, mg's, etc. I used to own an opel GT and really love that car, but this is like the opel on stereoids. This is also why when I bought the car I bought it with no options and have kept it 100% stock.

In many ways I consider this car to be as much of a classic as the first Corvettes or the Porsche Spyder, or the Toyota 2000. Time is going to be very kind to the first versions of this car. In my opinion.

By the way, I did my first brake job at 142, 000 mi. There was still pad left. They don't use cops to keep speed down around here. They use deer. Watch for deer in you're golden.

There are some very subtle suspension geometry differences that essentially makes the Subaru ride a little softer on the highway but at higher limits, both handle the same.

Scotty is such a troll and i love it. This honestly looks like a fun little car

Both the BRZ and GR86 are basically half Toyota half Subaru. The engine is designed by Subaru (but also uses Toyota’s D-4S fuel injection system), and the transmission is made by Toyota/Aisin .

The BRZ always reminds me of my favorite car I ever owned, my 1984 RX7-GSL. much fun!!

I have the 2024 BRZ, and I love it. There is another difference between the BRZ & GR86 is the suspension is different. The Toyota version has a suspension tuned more for track; and the Subaru is tuned more for daily driving.

I will say there is slight suspension differences between the 86 and the BRZ that lead them to drive slightly different. The BRZ is a little more compliant and the 86 is a little more solid. Personally I prefer the way the BRZ feels and carries through a corner. The 86 feels more connected, but that also makes it feel a little more jumpy and skittish, whereas the BRZ absorbs a little more road chatter.

Got me again Scotty!

I was actually ready to go look for this vehicle which gets 120 mpg. Heck I'd be happy with 60 mpg.
