I actually really enjoyed this film, especially the twist in the third act. I went into it mostly blind without having watched the trailer. There are some plot holes here and there, but overall, I thought it was a fun and interesting watch.

I loved this film the trailer gave away nothing about what the film was about.Probably one of the best horrors this year the twist was totally unexpected and i loved the killers last killing spree.

A double shot of crazy and beautifully bizzare.

So I was very surprised by this one. I had no idea this was going to be a slasher, so personally I thought the marketing was quite clever to keep us in the dark about that. A breathe of fresh air.
James Wans style is very unique when it comes to horror and it shows through the walls, but i also felt like there was something else present within the style of this one.
They needed to get rid of the campy dialogue, also some parts of the acting wasn't entirely great. But nontheless, it was still a bloody hell of a ride.

I had a feeling it was her because of the hair in the cop chase scene but wasn't sure of her connection to the odd movements the killer was making.

Really intresting movie. Id give it 3/5 liked the plot but not fan of the soundtrack, sounded very random and not effective.

Us at Cheers to Fears really loved this movie. This movie is so polarizing and it seems people either love it or hate it (obviously with some exceptions haha). But I felt like it was done so well in so many ways!

I just watched a crazy Giallo the other night. The New York Ripper. It was nuts too! It's got heavy full nudity/sex, & a killer that likes to talk like Donald Duck! I shit you not! I had to watch that one high because there is no other way. I could not stop laughing! It had some pretty insane kills in it too. One in particular made me squirm! Worth checking out to anyone reading comments who enjoys old cheesy Giallos!

I started watching it the other day but only watched the intro scene and half of the title sequence. There was so much gore in that title sequence like video of medical procedures that I expected it to be torture porn and just turned it off. I watched the RLM review and your review and I think I might actually go back and finish it. It looks like the right amount of serious acting plus goofy ridiculous concept.

I thought the plot borrowed from too many movies to be original or effective. The first act and second half felt like different movies. The score jumped all over the place. As usual with his films, James Wan has some good ideas that just don’t get executed as well as they deserve. 2/5
