As a nonbinary adult, I've spent my life wrestling with gender norms and I remember as a child being so disgusted that God made a mistake and made me a girl and not a boy. I couldn't even imagine if I had heard a song like this or had seen a video with this profound message when I was younger. Maybe it would've helped me understand myself and maybe even love myself from a young age instead of being swallowed up by severe depression and vicious self harm. It may seem like a simple song and message, but it is so deeply important for those of us who don't fit into those gender boxes to have representation and a message of love and acceptance.

I love how Ezra is the narrator of this video and sort of appears angelic in the way they are present in the frames but are not seen by the family in the background. It's like the baby's guardian angel and I just love how beautiful this came out. The song is lovely and Bob, you did a fantastic job directing. Thank you for putting this out into the world ❤️

I’m a gay, cis, he/him, which doesn’t matter but I mention for context. I am so happy that a friend sent me this as I’ve been going through a rough time lately. I really identified with the feelings of ambivalence and trying to understand where your feet are planted, and what the means for you, regardless of how it looks to others.
I’ve had friends and coworkers that are trans. I never understood the difficulty some have, even in our own lgbTq+ community, accepting someone else at face value. Why do some find it so difficult to accept the journey of another…?
I love y’all. I love this song. I’m saving it and sharing it as much as I can!
