Been there, done that. I'm a grown-ass adult. If I want a baby sitter I'd pay for one, at least they'd do what I said, as you're paying either way.

Don't get me wrong, living with a partner has upsides, but I'm at the point in my life where I'm pretty happy just chillin on my own.

I once went on a blind date that was set up by a friend. The girl was HOT, and, in spite of the fact that she had a kid and an ex, I would have considered her long term. Then, the morning after our first date, I had the boundaries talk, which she seemed fine with, and off I went. Well, literally 5 minutes later, she calls. I thought maybe I left something behind or, I would even have accepted a quick commentary on how well the date went or even a tease about our next date. NOPE, she began by saying, "I know you just said....but...." That's was it. It took every ounce of willpower I had to not just straight hang up but, bring a nice guy, I let her go on about needing to "know where we stand", and on and on. Because we decided to do a daytime date, we had literally just spent 24 hours together, and due to circumstances with the ex being a d-bag, we had her kid the whole day so she threw in how "attached" to me her kid has already become. That was a tough one because her kid was a super special kid and I felt an obligation to her because she was such a good kid and was absolutely hilarious and fun to have around. I was totally conflicted because I felt like I had an instant family and, if I had to pick an instant wife and kid, on paper anyway, they would have checked a ton of boxes. That said, it all boiled down to, "I know you just said, but...." I saw that as a giant red flag and a sign of things to come. I walked away early because I needed to act fast because if I didn't, that lack of respect of boundaries and intentions would have been the dynamic forever.
